Alleging breach of promise on the part of the ruling Congress government on the issue of NHM contractual workers, Janta Congress Chhattisgarh (J) President Amit Jogi said their termination amounts to an anti-worker decision. Jogi said the ruling Congress government has meted injustice against these 13,000 odd health workers who had worked without PPE kits or any kind of protection while putting their lives in danger. He asked State Government to solve the issue through dialogue and cancel the termination orders issued against them.

JCC(J) President Amit Jogi termed that it is insensitive on the part of State Government to reject the proposal put forth by the striking NHM workers that they would continue with their work during the striking period, but without pay. He asked whether the Chief Minister knows that, of the 13,000 odd NHM workers, 11,000 are female, who’re working while putting their lives in danger since the last four months without PPE kits.

JCC(J) President Amit Jogi said the Chief Minister should take out few minutes from his busy schedule to meet these NHM workers and give patient hearing to their demands. It seems that State Government has lost its sensitivity completely after making breach of promise against these health workers. He said the state government should immediately recall the termination orders and reinstate them as regular employees.
