Nandanvan police seized 22 debit cards, credit cards, a master key and recovered stolen cash from the accused duo 
 
NANDANVAN Police arrested two thieves from Haryana involved in stealing lakhs of rupees from automated teller machines (ATMs) of different banks. Cops recovered 22 debit cards and credit cards, stolen cash, a master key, and a two-wheeler collectively worth Rs 5.65 lakh from their possession. With their arrest, cops detected four thefts which they had committed at the ATMs of different banks in Gittikhadan, Wadi, Pratap Nagar and railway station.
 
Identified as Asif Khan Jumma Khan (21) and Shahdat Khan Mohammad Khan (30), the accused are the residents of Chandeni, Nuh (Mewat) district, Haryana. Dinanath Patil, manager of one of the nationalised banks and a resident of Beltarodi area, told police that he came to know from the head office about some suspicious transactions at the ATM in Wardhaman Nagar. In the CCTV footage, two persons were seen stealing money from the ATM. Between September 1, 2020 and September 17, 2020, the accused stole Rs 1,23,500 from the ATM. On the basis of the information, cops laid a trap at the ATM kiosk and nabbed the accused duo on September 21.
 
Preliminary investigation revealed that the accused had stolen lakhs of rupees from ATMs of different banks. They deposited Rs 4.65 lakh in one of their bank accounts. Cops freezed their account. About their modus operandi, police said that one of the accused used to insert a card in the ATM while the other used to open it using the master key. Likewise, they stole cash from different ATMs. Cops arrested the accused duo and obtained remand for their custodial interrogation till September 27. The arrests were made by Senior PI Sandipan Pawar, API Shankar Gaigude and their team under the supervision of DCP Vivek Masal.
