“The entire system is toiling hard to ensure best possible treatment to each patient suffering from COVID-19. After ensuring effective treatment in Government hospitals, authorising 27 private hospitals in the city for treatment, now the Government has made it mandatory for these private hospitals and nursing homes to display their rate list promptly on the board at their reception counter.

Simultaneously , directors of private hospitals and nursing homes will also submit a copy of that rate list at the office of Chief Medical and Health Officer,” informed Chief Medical and Health Officer Dr Ratnesh Kurariya while interacting with the media during a conference on Friday.

According to CMHO Dr Kurariya, even the High Court has directed the State Government to ask private and all other hospitals permitted for COVID treatment to display their rate lists at the reception counter. Simultaneously, the Government should ensure that patients are not overcharged for COVID treatment at any hospital. Private hospitals can charge 40 per cent additional to the rate fixed by the Government. But if they charge over 40 per cent, patients can immediately register a complaint against the hospital to the Collector and Chief Medical and Health Officer. It may be mentioned that 27 private hospitals have been authorised in Jabalpur city for administering treatment to patients suffering from COVID-19.
