Fire breaks out at school building, no casualty reported

On Friday afternoon, a major fire broke out at a school building located at Hoshangabad Road in the city. The fumes of smoke were visible from far away. People living nearby made videos of fore and reported to the Fire Brigade Department.
Fire brigades were sent from two different stations on the spot. However, the school management claimed that as the school is closed at present. And only online classes were on, fortunately there was no casualty has been reported. At the time of the incident, there was no one but a few school staffers. BMC squad is yet to ascertain reason for fire accident but it believed that short circuit can be the reason. Panic spread in the area after the incident. People immediately started calling the fire brigade. In a video here, locals were seen extinguishing the fire while standing on the roof of the school. The fire brigade had reached the spot.
No information has been reported about any casualty. BMC fire officer Rameshwar Neel said that the team of BMC Fire Department tried to douse the flames from outside and it took one and half hour to control the fire.
The fire was caught on terrace and upper floor and only broken furniture and other items kept on the terrace were burnt. The fire was caught in sheets spread on roof of the school building.
