In reply, the Principal Secretary said that all the vacant posts of teacher cadre will be promoted as per Recruitment Promotion Rule 5 March 2019.

Currently, works in the offices are disrupted due to corona bringing all the activities to a grinding halt, the PS said. The PS also dismissed a letter issued by the joint director that might deprived of many lecturers of promotion benefit. For the appointment of teachers on the post of assistant teachers, the Department has been asked to estimate the expenditure. Information of teachers affected in all districts has been called, said Shukla.

The proposal will be prepared by the Department and will be given to the Finance Department for approval. Jha said that the statewide Niyayi Paati campaign was started from August 20 under the guidance of Rajesh Chatterjee, in which affected teachers in 146 blocks are writing postcards. It is noteworthy that on September 9, memorandum was given to State Government through the collectors in all the districts of State. Under the campaign, the teachers are demanding justice by writing a postcard to the Chief Minister, Education Minister and Principal Secretary Education on the two-point demand of giving promotion pay and timely pay scale to the teachers recruited on the post of Assistant Teacher.
