Officers and personnel of Special Armed Force (SAF), 6th Battalion will soon get newly constructed and well furnished official residences and quarters. Total 168 new residences and quarters, including 48 for gazetted officers and 120 for non-gazetted officers, head constables and constables were sanctioned with a budget of Rs 11.65 crore under the head of Mukhya Mantri Police Awas Yojana in 2017-18. SAF, 6th Battalion, Commandant, Rudolf Alvares (IPS) informed that construction of total 49 residences of gazetted officers has been completed and are likely to be inaugurated by October 10.
 
Similarly, construction of total 24 + 96 quarters for non-gazetted officers, head constables and constables is underway and construction of around 48-quarters has been completed. Similarly, Commandant Alvares informed that 68 old quarters in Ranjhi will be destroyed and total 300 new quarters will be constructed at the same place with an estimated budget of Rs 35-40 crore.
 
He informed that completion of residential projects will provide adequate residential quarters to SAF personnel and officers. Construction of new residential colony will not only provide better services to SAF personnel and their families but also ensure security and safety arrangements for security personnel who spent most of their time without their families.
