BHAVANI Sanghthan Durga Utsav Samiti protested at Roshanpura Chauraha against setting guidelines for the Durga Festival ended up in ruffle . To disperse the crowd, cops had to lathi charge, though no casualities have been reported. They are demanding 10-feet-tall statue and permission for Garba Utsav . As per guidelines no statue upto 6 feet is allowed.
 
The size of the pandal will also be 10 by 10 feet maximum. As per directives issued by the district administration and Bhopal Municipal Corporation (BMC) less than 100 people will be able to organise social , cultural and other programmes. On Sunday, former Minister PC Sharma also took out a rally for the same. He marched on foot from Mata Mandir intersection to New Market. During peaceful march he also offered a memorandum to authorities.
 
As per guidelines it is necessary to take prior permission of the programme and no procession will be allowed. Garba nights have been suspended due to COVID-19 scare and permission for idol immersion will not be granted to groups of more than 10 people. Immersion will have to be done only at the immersion sites fixed by the district administration and Bhopal Municipal Corporation (BMC).
