A Combined team of Crime Branch and Garha police busted a hi-tech online IPL satta in a house at Shyamla Hills in Garha. Police have nabbed two accused and seized 14 mobile handsets, television set, a laptop, Rs 2,800 cash and records of online satta bookings from them. The two arrested have been identified as Abhinav Soni (21), a resident of near Bariya Wale Jain Mandir in Hanumantal and Prince alias Mayank Jain (30), resident of behind Bade Jain Mandir in Hanumantal.
 
On September 23, police had busted online satta on IPL matches in room number 302 at Panchvati Inn Hotel at Bhedaghat and seized 25 mobile handsets, Rs 18,300 cash and records of bookings worth lakhs. Additional SP (Crime) Gopal Khandel informed that under the direction of Superintendent of Police Siddharth Bahuguna, police have started a special campaign against online satta on IPL cricket matches. Continuing the campaign, Crime Branch received information about operation of online satta. Acting promptly on the information, a combined team of Crime Brach and Garha police raided the identified spot at house number MIG-4 and nabbed two accused when they were busy in taking online bookings of satta on IPL match between Mumbai Indians and Royal Challengers Bengaluru.
 
Police have seized Rs 2,800, 14 mobile handsets, a laptop and records of satta bookings. Garha police have registered a case under Section 4(A) of Gambling Act while further investigations are underway to identify and apprehend other persons working in online network of IPL satta. Raid was conducted by team comprised of Garha, SI, Neelesh Parte, Head Constable, Hargovind Patel, Constables, Arun, Rahul and Purushottam and Crime Branch’s ASI, Gopal Vishwakarma, Balram Pandey, Nitin Mishra, Balkrishna, Atul Garg, Amit Dubey, Shailendra Kaurav, Mahesh Kahar and Mukesh Ahirwar.
