The indefinite strike of Mandi Board employees entered second day in State on Friday. Agitating Mandi Board employees have closed the gate of Mandi and sitting before the closed gate, demanding security of their salary, allowances and pension.
 
Mandi Board employees have gone on indefinite strike as they fear that their salaries, pensions and allowances will be affected in the wake of implementation of Model Mandi Act. They say that Model Mandi Act vouches for opening private mandi. They say that as private mandis have been made tax-free then why traders will come to purchase farmers produce in mandis where they have to pay the tax.
 
Talking to ‘The Hitavada’ State President of Mandi Karamchari Mahasangh Jaswant Singh Thakur told that all mandis across the State remained locked on second day of indefinite strike. Mandi employees are staging dharna before the close gate of mandi everywhere and demanding security to their salaries, pension and allowances. In Bhopal also, mandi employees are staging dharna before closed gate.
 
He told that though Government is making moves to approach them but it has not given any thing in written.
Notably, thousands of mandi employees thronged State capital on Thursday and demonstrated in support of their demands. Police also cane charged to disperse them.
