On the eve of Teachers’ Day, School Education Minister Dr Premsai Singh Tekam has extended his best wishes and greetings to the teachers. Remembering the contributions of the great philosopher, academic, and the former President of India Dr Sarvepalli Radhakrishnan, the School Education Minister said teachers play the most significant role in the life of every person after parents. The teachers’ through their knowledge not only enlighten the life of students but provide new direction to the whole society.
 
Dr Tekam further added that due to fresh challenges which came in the way of imparting education, responsibilities of teachers have significantly increased. In the current scenario, the whole country including Chhattisgarh is fighting against the COVID-19 pandemic, which has directly affected the education system. Due to closing down of schools for a long time, changes had to be made in the academic system and with an objective to ensure connectivity of students with education, the State Government initiated ‘Padhai Tunhar Dwar’ online portal.
 
The School Education Minister further added that in order to connect students through off-line methods, usage of loudspeaker, ‘Padhai Tunhar Para’ and ‘Bultu ke Bol’ are being done in rural and far flung areas for imparting education. Many teachers have made new innovations for imparting education to children keeping in mind the locality. Such dedicated teachers will be felicitated.
 
The School Education Minister called upon teachers to follow the teachings of Dr Sarvepalli Radhakrishnan and try their level best to create a better future for the students. On the occasion of Teachers’ Day, the School Education Minister hoped that during this crisis period, the teachers will enlighten the state and its people through their knowledge.
