Instead of waiting for declaration of by-elections dates, BJP has intensified its programmes in by-poll bound Assembly seats in State. Its senior leaders are routinely touring these constituencies, holding meeting with party workers and making blistering attack on Congress. On the contrary, visits of stalwart leaders of Congress in Assembly by-poll bound seats are hardly palpable.

It will be no exaggeration to say that not even a single stalwart leader of Congress has toured Gwalior and Chambal region where maximum seats will go for by-elections in coming time. Moreover, new Madhya Pradesh Congress incharge Mukul Wasnik has also not visited, so far, by-poll constituencies to take stock of preparations. Even Congress State President Kamal Nath is yet to visit Assembly constituencies. On the other hand, BJP State President V D Sharma along with Union Minister Narendra Singh Tomar is touring one after another in by-poll bound constituencies to monitor the preparations and boost the morale of party workers. In this way, hitherto, BJP is miles ahead in preparations as compared to Congress.

When contacted, former Home Minister and Congress MLA Balabachchan told ‘The Hitavada’ that he is incharge of Badnawar region and he is touring the region. He further told that BJP wants to remain in power without election as long as possible. “However, Congress will win all Assembly seats in Gwalior and Chambal belt,” he claimed. Notably, by-elections are to be held on 27 seats and its result will decide the future of BJP government.
