Central team inspects COVID status at BRAMH

Center’s 3-member medical team inspected Dr BR Ambedkar Memorial Hospital (BRAMH) on Saturday. Team reviewed the measures being taken for the treatment of Covid-19 and efforts to control infection. As per official sources a team of three experts on behalf of the Directorate General of Health Services, Ministry of Health and Family Welfare, Government of India, reviewed the public health services being made available for Covid-19 patients by Pt Jawaharlal Nehru Memorial Medical College and inspected BRAMH. Members of the team inquired about standard treatment, infection prevention and surveillance, infection prevention and control being provided to Covid-19 patients and current status of health facilities in the medical institute.
 
The team of experts from the Centre included Dr Geeta Yadav, Professor Preventive Social Medicine, Safdarjung Hospital, Dr. Anubhav Srivastava, Deputy Director, National Centre for Disease Control (NCDC) Delhi, Dr Abhinav Sinha, Scientist, NIMR, Delhi. The three-member team appreciated the consultation and training being provided by the experts of Ambedkar Hospital through online video calls to the doctors of specialised Covid-19 hospital located in remote areas of State through the Tele Consultation Hub. They saw at the methods adopted for proper disposal of biomedical waste.
 
Obtained information from experts regarding intensive medical facility being made available for serious patients of Covid-19 and following the guidelines issued from time to time by Indian Council of Medical Research (ICMR). Discussed in detail the methods of sample extraction, donning and doping area, data collection and continuous monitoring in Virology Lab.
 
On this occasion, Dr Vineet Jain, Superintendent of BRAMH; Dr Shipra Sharma, Dr S Chandravanshi, Dr R K Panda, Dr N R Beck, Dr O P Sundarani, Dr Santosh Singh Patel, Dr Sandeep Chandrakar, Dr Altaf Yusuf Mir and Data manager Anand Sahu from National Health Mission was present. Later the team visited All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS) Raipur and performed similar interactions with doctors. The team appreciated the methods adopted by the AIIMS doctors.
