People rush to Boat Club to welcome New Year

To bid good bye to challenging year 2020, Bhopal’s Upper Lake Boat Club has been decked up. Good numbers of youngsters were seen coming to Boat Club from evening itself to celebrate New Year’s eve. Gagan, a college goer and a volunteer associated with ‘Streets for People’s Challenge’ said that Boat Club is always been favourite spot for Bhopalities and this year due to corona scare people have not planned any outside vacation so their friends have planned to celebrate event at Boat Club with social distancing compliance .Madhya Pradesh Tourism Development Corporation (MPSTDC) has decorated the Boat Club for Jashn-e-Bhopal to welcome the New Year.
 
Around 20 trees, located at the club, have been decorated with colourful lights. Besides, four selfie booths have been installed on the road leading to the club. The booths are based on themes like nature, heritage, pilgrimage and wildlife tourism of the State. Managing Director of the MPSTDC S Vishwanathan said that selfie booths have been decorated and a LED screen of 20ft x10ft will be installed at the entry gate of the club. The advertisement of the State tourism will be displayed.
 
Besides, classical music will be played on public address systems and digital fireworks will be shown on the screen to welcome New Year at midnight. Paintings on the gate has already been completed and lighting has been done. The seflie booths have been installed to facilitate locals to take pictures comfortably rather than standing in pavements. The boat ride restrictions, however, have not been suspended and boat operations will continue on January 1 2021, with COVID-19 guidelines only.
