THE alleged erotic asphyxia case in which an engineer lost his life at Maharaja Lodge, Dahegaon (Rangari), took a new turn with Khaperkheda Police arresting the young girl on murder charges following a complaint lodged by the victim’s father on Saturday. Identified as Mehazbin alias Heena Samad (20), the accused is a resident of Teka Basti. The deceased, Ziauddin Salauddin Ansari (29) was a resident of Plot No. 433, Teka Nai Basti. Cops registered an offence under Section 302 of the Indian Penal Code against Mehazbin alias Heena after Salauddin Ansari (55), father of deceased Ziauddin Ansari lodged a complaint against her.

The victim’s father Salauddin alleged that his son was already married. The ‘Nikah’ was held on October 29, 2019. Prior to the wedding, he alleged that he came to know that Mehazbin had an affair with his son for the past two years. The father further alleged that Mehazbin, too, had approached him requesting to accept her as his daughter-in-law. But as all arrangements were made for his son’s marriage the ‘Nikah’ was solemnised as scheduled, he added. Salauddin also alleged that on December 15 last year, Ziauddin was blessed with a baby boy. On January 7 this year, he said, Ziauddin was to take his son to the doctor. In the meanwhile, he said, Ziauddin received a phone call. He told his father that it was his friend’s call. After sometime, he dropped his son to the house and left on a scooterette telling family members that he was going to Saoner.

On the same night, Salauddin said, he received a phone call from one of his close relatives that his son met with an accident. He along with his family members and relatives visited Khaperkheda Police Station where he was told that his son was no more. Salauddin Ansari also alleged in his complaint that Mehazbin was angry when she came to know that Ziauddin’s wife delivered a baby boy. Expressing doubts on Mehazbin for hatching the murder plan, he alleged possibility of involvement of some more persons in the crime. Sub-Inspector Abhishek Andhare, who is investigating the case under the supervision of Superintendent of Police (Rural) Rakesh Ola and PSO (Khaperkheda) Pundlik Bhatkar, had already seized the cellphones of the deceased and the accused girl. Accused Mehazbin, who is a post-graduate in management, was working with a private firm.

Earlier, she had told police that she and Ziauddin were in relationship for the past five years. On the fateful night, the couple had taken a Nylon rope, blades and other material with them to the lodge. Before indulging in the erotic game, she allegedly tied Ziauddin’s hands and legs to a dinning chair with the rope. She allegedly used another rope as a ligature around his neck and tied it to a window grill. She also allegedly tied one of the ends of the noose to his private parts and went to the washroom. She returned to the room to find the chair tumbled with the noose tightening around Ziauddin’s neck. He had died of asphyxiation.

Mehazbin had also told the police that she was already married to Ziauddin in court and had planned to run away either to Mumbai or Pune in coming months. When contacted, Superintendent of Police ( Rural) Rakesh Ola said, “Though we registered a case of murder following complaint lodged by the victim’s father, we are investigating the case from all possible angles.” As there was no eye-witness to the incident, the probe is on taking into consideration advance autopsy report and the victim’s complaint, he added. Ola, however, expressed confidence that in-depth probe by the police using scientific and technological gadgets and interrogation of the accused would certainly unravel mystery behind the death.
