BHILAI,

Although, the officials from Bhilai Municipal Corporation (BMC) have claimed that the civic authority is leaving no stone unturned to keep the city clean and plastic free and also for improving sanitary measures to bag top rank in the Swachh Survekshan-2021 and to ensure cleanliness, the enforcement officials from BMC authority has been levying a hefty penalty on polluters for scattering garbage and not installing dust bin in front of shops, eateries, showrooms etc. Unfortunately, there are numerous government-run liquor shops in city, are functioning even without installing a dustbin outside the liquor shop.

Additionally, most of the liquor shops in city can be seen surrounded with heap of garbage accumulated with water pouches, plastics bottles and snack’s packet etc, which spreads foul and pungent odor in the area. But, neither the civic authority is paying proper attention to lift plastic waste and garbage on regular basis to maintain hygiene around the liquor shops and nor the city police is giving focus to discourage boozers, who are boozing around the liquor shops.
