The fire tragedy that took place at district general hospital here was due to negligence, alleged Sunil Mendhe, MP, in a press conference on Sunday. He demanded action against district civil surgeon and the staff on duty and judical enquiry into the incident. The MP has called for Bhandara bandh on Monday.

 

He said the Bharatiya Janata Party has called for bandh seeking justice for the vicitms’ familes. It may be mentioned that 10 infants died in the fire that broked out in the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit of the district general hospital in the wee hours of Saturday. Shivram Giripunje, BJP District President, former MLAs Bala Kashiwar and Charan Waghmare, Mukesh Thantharate, Mayur Bisen, District President of Traders’ Front, and others were present at the press conference.
