KEEPING his cool in tense situation helped Sahil Jamba beat Mahesh Awachat 2-0 in the ongoing Woodshot Open Snooker Tournament in progress at Woodshot Pool ‘N’ Snooker Club in Himalaya Harmony, Pratap Nagar Square, on Sunday. Jamba took the first frame 43-39 but Awachat took lead in the second and it looked that the match would go into the third frame. Jamba was trailing by 30 points in the second. But he kept his cool and covered Awachat’s lead to win the frame and the match.

 

In other matches, Addy Motghare and Anshul Tandekar registered victories over their respective rivals as they moved up in the competition. In the first match of the evening, Motghare defeated Sagar Maheshwari 2-1. He took first frame quite easily 73-16. But Maheshwari fought his way back in the second frame (42-24). In the third frame both the players fought tooth and nail matching each others pots. But Motghare had the last laugh as he took the frame and match 95-82. In the other match, Anshul Tandekar blanked Ankit Wankar 2-0. He took the first frame without losing sweat 82-3. And then won the match with a margin of 66-42.
