activists from Paryavaran Bachao Andolan staged protest in city on Sunday. The volunteers protested against cutting of hundreds of large trees in TT Nagar Bhopal area. Volunteer and activist Sharad Kumre said that it is very sad and shameful. Cutting trees with ruthlessness is an act like digging a pit for future generations. In the name of smart city, greenery has been devastated due to which common people are worried for themselves and future generations. Activists of Paryavaran Bachao Andolan had met Aditya Singh, CEO of Smart City, and submitted a memorandum. Activists had demanded that a guideline should be prepared keeping the environment in mind for development of Smart City.
 
Environmental savvy, environmentalists and experts who have come together for Save Environment Movement have also vouched for sustainable development activities with environment in mind. Trees were cut down. In the name of transplantation of trees, work is being done without any criteria and proper planning. Proper strategy needs to be chalked out to ensure proper compensation of greenery in the city, they said. Activist also protested near Platinum Plaza, Smart City TT, protested against cutting of trees by lying in front of JCB machine.
 
The message was given not to cut trees by sticking to trees. Sharad Singh Kumre of Save Environment Movement informed that large number of nearby citizens were present on the occasion including Environmentalist Dr Anand Patel, Dr Rachna David, Shailendra Marscole, Ramesh Vanjari, Rekha Singh, Dr Deepak Tripathi, Ashok Chaurasia, Vivek Saxena, Bhupendra Dahria and many children associated of Kadam Sanstha also attended.
