Moderate to heavy fog warning issued for city

On Sunday foggy weather enveloped Bhopal city throughout in day time .Maximum temperature recorded was at 23 degree Celsius and minimum temperature was at 14 degree celcius. Wind velocity recorded was at 10km per hour. Moderate to heavy fog warning has been issued to many places in Gwalior, Chambal, Ujjain, Bhopal, Sagar divisions. Lowest minimum temperature was recorded at Gwalior, Datia, Khargone which was at 13 degree Celsius. Maximum temperature recorded at Indore was at 25.7 degree Celsius which was one degree below than the normal range and minimum temperature recorded at 16.4 (0) degree Celsius.
 
Jabalpur recorded maximum at 27 (0) degree Celsius and minimum at 16 (+5) degree Celsius.Gwalior recorded at 22.6 degree Celsius and minimum at 13.5 (+7) degree Celsius. After Makar Sankranti in January, the minimum temperature starts increasing gradually, but this time the weather patterns may witness a change. Changing winds are bringing cloudy weather and intermittent light rains will occur in many places in Madhya Pradesh. Meanwhile, two weather systems built at different locations and a western disturbance is currently active in and around Afghanistan. Also, a trough runs from Karnataka to Madhya Maharashtra.
 
Due to this, the process of mass humidity in winds has started in Madhya Pradesh and weather will remain cloudy for few more days. Especially in Bhopal, Indore, Hoshangabad, Jabalpur, Sagar division, there is a possibility of good rains on January 9. During this period, hail is also expected to fall in the state capital and surrounding areas. Although rain is quite beneficial for wheat, gram, but hailstorms can cause heavy damage to crops and weather department has issued warning in this regard.The weather is likely to clear by next week and after that the minimum temperature will start to fall again.
