several research papers on tribal religious traditions were presented at national seminar on ‘Tribal Religious Tradition and Devalok’ at Tribal Museum on Sunday. The three-day national seminar on ‘Tribal Religious Tradition and Devalok’ organised under joint aegis of Dattopant Thengdi Research Institute and Tribal Folk Arts and Languages Development Academy of Culture at Tribal Museum.

On the occasion, scholars threw light on religious interrelations in Indian tradition. Dr Mahendra Mishra, while discussing topic of traditional mythological, folk and tribal cremation’, said that those who did not accept fire in old times were called Asuras. He said that tribal form is actually Vedic form. Durgadas Uike said that the tribal society has a glorious history. Tribal society has importance of gods and goddesses, tribe society is nature worshiper. Our ancestors have considered rivers as mother. Tribe society is the only descendant of Shiva-Parvati. Dhanesh Paraste said that primitive tribes are nature worshipers, all regions have different deities and people worship these areas in their own way. Tribes have their philosophical thoughts.

Water, forest, land is base of philosophy of tribes. Tribal knowledge system shared has originated from centuries of observation of nature, especially the behaviour of birds and animals .There are many ‘effective’ pieces of information in every aspect of life of Adivasis which may vanish in a few years, as younger generation finds no use for it because they are not aware of it which is unfortunate.
