Former State minister and MLA Narsinghpur, Jalam Singh Patel inaugurated the week-long camp being organised by National Service Scheme open unit at Rani Durgavati University at village Garra Gotegaon on Sunday. Former MLA, Gotegaon, Hakam Singh Chadhar, former municipality president, Rajkumar Jain, Janpad Panchayat President, Santosh Dubey and others were present. Being organised under the guidance of Vice-Chancellor, Rani Durgavati University, Professor Kapil Deo Mishra and NSS Programme Co-ordinator, Professor Ashok Marathe and leadership of NSS Programme Officer and camp Director, Dr Devanshu Gautam, the camp will continue till January 16.
 
Following the appeal of Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister, Shivraj Singh Chouhan, the camp was inaugurated with Kanya Pujan, followed by cultural activities and garlanding of portrait of Swami Vivekanand. Former State Minister Patel further distributed T-shirts, batches and caps among the NSS volunteers who always made efforts to help the society to get rid of social evils.
 
Camp Director, Dr Devanshu Gautam while presenting camp report, informed that the NSS volunteers from all the eight districts including Jabalpur, Katni, Mandla, Dindori, Narsinghpur, Chhindwara, Seoni and Balaghat, which fall under the periphery of Rani Durgavati University are attending the camp. Addressing the gathering, MLA Jalam Singh Patel emphasised on making the society free from addiction. Especially youths who are entrapped under the dreadful clutches of addiction should be freed and motivated to fulfil their role in the nation building. The inaugural ceremony concluded with the national anthem. The programme was organised following all safety protocols and guidelines issued by the government for prevention of COVID-19.
