Makar Sankranti is a very auspicious day. Aryabhatta Astronomical Park in Chauki is all set for the celebrations today

Makar Sankranti is a period of enlightenment, peace, prosperity and happiness. This festival also marks the end of an inauspicious phase. It is the beginning of an auspicious phase, which can mobilise an individual’s stagnant career and therefore one can look forward to a bright career. Since the festival is dedicated to the Sun God, and Sun is regarded as the symbol of divinity and wisdom, the festival brings forth the best in an individual. On the auspicious occasion of Makar Sankranti, Shri Shani Shaktipeeth situated in Aryabhatta Astronomy Park in Chauki village a special anushthan of activation of nine wells of nine planets and Navgraha Parikrama Marga will be held on January 14 at 11 am.

Talking to The Hitavada, noted astrologer and founder of Shri Shani Shaktipeeth, Acharya Dr Bhupesh Gadge said, “Makar Sankranti is an auspicious period of transit of Sun in to Makar or Capricorn. This year’s Sankranti is very special as the big planets Jupiter (Guru) and Saturn (Shani) are already placed in Capricorn. Also, on January 14, Moon, Mercury and Pluto are in Capricorn. So, with the entry of Sun, there will be six planets situated in one Zodiac sign that is Capricorn. I am eagerly waiting for such an auspicious planetary position. Therefore, I have decided to activate the wells of planets and Parikrama marga on this day.” Dr Gadge who promotes scientific astrology, mentioned, “Sun transits into Capricorn on Makar Sankranti with respect to Earth.

This doesn’t have anything to do with Hindu theists/atheists or any religious beliefs. Look upward to sky, locate the constellations using some sky-gazing app and you will observe that Sun moves into Capricorn on said date. Also, at the same Earth time, Sun is in a different constellation with respect to other planets in solar system. “Capricorn is a movable earth sign governed by Saturn, one of the most feared planets in astrology. Saturn is an airy planet and it shares an inimical relation with Sun, which is a fiery planet. Saturn doesn’t necessarily produces malefic results only. it is known to delay not deny what you want in life.” The time between Makar Sankranti and 40 Ghatis (roughly 16 hours for Indian locations if we consider 1 Ghati duration as 24 minutes) from the time of Makar Sankranti is considered good for auspicious work.
