Consignment of 1.51 lakh COVID vaccine doses reaches city

Maiden consignment of the COVID-19 vaccine from thte Serum Institute of India reached the district on Wednesday night for start of the immunisation process in Jabalpur and its adjoining districts. Initially, 1.51 lakh doses have been supplied for vaccination of front line corona warriors including 93,300 doses in Jabalpur and 57,380 doses in Rewa divisions.
 
Vaccine reached Jabalpur in Spice Jet plane at Dumna Airport on Wednesday night. According to the protocol, the consignment was transported from Airport to medical godown situated at Indira Market for its further distribution to the listed hospitals. Vaccine was transported amidst tight security arrangements by Jabalpur Police to avoid any untoward incident. Collector, Karmveer Sharma informed that total first consignment of 13 containers consist 1.51 lakh doses have been safely transported in Jabalpur.
 
Total 93,300 doses will be used in Jabalpur while rest 57,380 vaccines will be transported to Rewa division for starting immunization in districts. Total 28,030 doses to be vaccinated in Jabalpur, 15,070 in Chhindwara, 9,660 in Balaghat, 6,590 in Dindori, 8,300 in Katni, 8,830 in Mandla, 7,340 in Narsinghpur and 9,480 in Seoni district. Similarly, total 57,380 doses will be send in Rewa division for vaccination of 3,960 in Anuppur, 14,790 in Rewa, 13,820 in Satna, 7,940 in Shahdol, 7,820 in Sidhi, 5,710 in Singrauli and 3,340 in Umaria.
