KASHISH Bhagat, Akanksha Soudiya and Adarsh Bhure staked claims for a berth in Nagpur district team with their gold winning performances on second day of the District Junior Athletics Selection trials-cum-Competition being held at different venues of the city. Kashish, a student of Mahatma Gandhi English Medium High School, won gold medal in the Under-14 long jump (4.47 mtr) while Nav-Maharashtra Krida Mandal’s national-level player Akanksha claimed the yellow metal in 600 mtr run with a timing of 43.51 seconds in the competition organised by Nagpur District Athletics Association. In the boys’ Under-20 200 metres run, Vidyarthi Yuvak Krida Mandal’s Adarsh Bhure crossed the finish line in 23.10 secs to win the gold medal.

 

The long jump event was held at Jyotiba College of Physical Education while the running events were held at Ishwar Deshmukh College of Physical Education. The javelin throw events took place at SB City College, Sakkardhara.
