Police ensure recovery of Rs 27.82 lakh of two cyber crime victims

In a quick action, Cyber Police Station of Nagpur police helped two citizens to recover their stolen money collectivelly worth Rs 27.82 lakh from their bank accounts. A press release informed that Vinod Hemnani, a resident of Kalmana Road, having an account in ICICI Bank. An unidentified fraudsters had withdraw Rs 26.50 lakh from his bank account on November 27. Hemnani approached the police and lodged a complaint.
 
The Cyber police swung into the action and find out the bank account numbers in which the money was transferred. Soon after, the Cyber Police contacted nodal officers of concerned banks and freezed the accounts. Hemnani has received a full refund, the press release claimed. In yet another incident, Vasumitra Mishra, a resident of Mankapur, lost Rs. 1.32 lakh to an unknown online fraudster on December 26. He immediately lodged a complaint with the police, who traced the money trail and spoke to the bank and the payment gateway.
 
The funds were retrieved by the police. A police official said that the Cyber police are helping victims in a big way in recovering stolen money. The victims should immediately approached the Cyber police station after occurrence of the cyber crime, he appealed. Under the guidance of Addl CP Crime Sunil Fulari, DCP EoW Vivek Masal, the action was done by Sr PIs Dr Ashok Bagul and Raghvendra Kshirsagar, API Vishal Mane and staff Kunal Hatewar and Ajay Pawar.
