Uninterrupted power supply at vaccination centres
 
 
The much-awaited 1,14,000 Covishield vaccine doses meant for healthworkers working in private and Government hospitals of Nagpur region reached Nagpur city in the wee hours of Thursday. These vaccines came from Serum Institute, Pune. The administration has sent them to six districts of the division early in the morning itself by vehicles fitted with cold storages. The vaccination drive will begin on January 16. This will be the first dose of the vaccine to be given to the healthworkers who have registered themselves for COVID-19 vaccination to be conducted at 34 centres. State Public Health Department has asked its regional heads to form a special team that would monitor the vaccination programme. All the districts have already conducted dry run as a part of preparedness for vaccination. The department is planning to do vaccination of 100 healthworkers at a centre everyday. Elaborating the number of vaccines to be given to each district, Dr Sanjay Jaiswal told ‘The Hitavada’, “We have sent the vaccines to all six districts of Nagpur division.
 
The districts include Bhandara (9,500 vaccines), Chandrapur (20,000), Gadchiroli (12,000), Gondia (10,000), Nagpur (42,000), Wardha (20,500). The vaccination drives are to be conducted for which the districts have marked those many number of centres. Bhandara (3 centres), Chandrapur (6), Gadchiroli (4), Nagpur (12), Wardha (5)”. In Nagpur district, the city part has 5 designated centres where the vaccination drive will be conducted while the rural part of the district has 7 centres ready to administer vaccines.
 
The five centres in city include All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS), Nagpur; Daga Hospital, Government Medical College and Hospital (GMCH), Indira Gandhi Government Medical College and Hospital (IGGMCH), Mahal Diagnostic Centre. In rural the centres will be Sub-District Hospital at Ramtek, Kamptee, Rural Hospital at Umred, Hingna, Saoner, Katol and Gondkhairi Primary Health Centre. In Chandrapur, the vaccination will be held at Government Medical College, Sub-District Hospital, Warora and Rajura; Rural Hospital, Brahmapuri; Civil Hospital, Ramnagar and Pathanpura. In Gondia, it will be conducted at Government Medical College, Sub-District Hospital Tiroda, Rural Hospital, Deori.
 
The vaccination drive in Wardha will be held at Medical College, Sewagram; Acharya Vinoba Bhave Rural Hospital attached to Jawaharlal Nehru Medical College, affiliated to Datta Meghe Institute of Medical Sciences, Sawangi (Meghe); District Hospital, Wardha; Sub-District Hospital, Hinganghat and Arvi; Rural Hospital, Selu. In Bhandara the designated three centres include District Hospital, Sub-District Hospital, Tumsar and Rural Hospital, Lakhni. There are 93,309 healthworkers have registered themselves for the vaccination who will be given the dose on priority. In Nagpur district, 34,333 healthworkers registered themselves that include city’s 25,164 and 9,169 in rural. The other districts have 16,754 (Wardha), 7,602 (Bhandara), 16,110 (Chandrapur), 9,947 (Gadchiroli), 8,563 (Gondia). 
 
Uninterrupted power supply at vaccination centres In the wake of COVID-19 vaccination drive, the Maharashtra State Electricity Distribution Corporation Limited (MSEDCL) has decided to maintain uninterrupted power supply at all the Vaccination Centres. The vaccines are to be kept in the cold storage where the temperature of +2 and +8 degrees Celcius is to be maintained. For maintaining the cold temperature the power supply need to continue uninterrupted. Acting on the instructions by District Collectorate, the Chief Engineer of Nagpur region of MSEDCL Dilip Dodke has asked his officials to take necessary steps so that there should not be power outages. Dodke has reviewed the situation after discussing with Narayan Amzare, Superintendent Engineer, Dr Suresh Wankhede, Amit Paranjape. There will be uninterrupted power supply at all the vaccination centres from Friday.
