Twelve-year-old Anish Kachore’s dreams were shattered when one fine day he met a road accident while playing. Bones of his spinal vertebrae got dislocated injuring nerves of his spinal cord severely. This led to complete loss of power in his legs along with complete loss of power to pass urine and stools. His father took consultation from many hospitals in Nagpur, but no one assured him that Anish could be cured.

 

After 2 days of Anish’s accident, he underwent urgent spinal vertebral stabilization and removing pressure from the spinal nerves by Dr Nikhil Malewar at Seven Star Hospital. Dr Malewar successfully performed the surgery wherein the dislocated bones were fixed in correct position with screws-rods and the pressure was removed from the spinal nerves. Slowly with aggressive physiotherapy and strengthening exercises, Anish got back his power in his legs. After 6 months of aggressive training he could again walk, run and play his favorite games.
