The chilly winds coming from the North made Thursday the coldest day of the season. Due to the icy winds, the minimum temperature plummeted to 5.5 degree Celsius. The cold wave has changed the climatic conditions in the entire state, including Jabalpur. The northern winds blowing with moderate speed have dropped both day and night temperature below normal range.
 
They are adding to chillness in the weather and making early morning and late night hours freezing cold. On Thursday, the city recorded lowest temperature of the session i.e. 5.5 degree Celsius, which was minus five degree to the normal range. The freezing cold forced people to remain inside their house till last in the morning. The minimum temperature on Thursday was recorded at 5.5 degree Celsius, which was five degree below to normal range while the maximum temperature was recorded at 24.2 degree Celsius.
 
The humidity in the morning was 79 per cent while in the evening it was 38 per cent. Last year the minimum temperature on the day was 12.0 degree Celsius and maximum was 28.4 degree Celsius. Spokesman of Weather Department informed that the cold waves may continue and the mercury would remain below normal range. The forecast has clearly indicated that the Jabalpurians would have to face severe cold in the remaining days of the week.
