On Thursday, Kite Festival was organised in city along with street food carnival on Smart City road. This event was organised under the joint aegis of district administration Bhopal and Smart City. Various events were organised from 8 am to 10 am at the depot intersection Shyamala Hills Smart City Road. In the festival locals were seen enjoying sports activities like zumba, music, dance, cycling, badminton, cricket, tug of war. Delicious food items were also available and pickle, papad, laddus, gajak were also available for sale.

 

Girls were also seen taking part in mehendi programme. This festival was also utilised by Bhopal Municipal Corporation to promote cleanliness campaign. The festival was celebrated with COVID-19 guidelines. Ritu Kumar, a college student, who participated in tug of war event said that more such community gatherings should be organised with socio- cultural activities. This programme also gives message of fitness to people which is good. It has to be noted that district administration is planning to organise such events The event is being organised to promote tourism activities in Bhopal and to provide employment at the local level. Children will also be introduced to sports and other activities through such festival.

 

The initiative was to raise awareness about health benefits linked with physical exercise. The residents including students and children took part in the three-hour challenge where fun games were organised. The roads turned into no motor zone during the period. The children also enjoyed the event and used their brushes to paint nature on canvass. Many people played musical instruments.
