COVID-19 vaccination drive to begin in city today at 9 am

“The biggest vaccination campaign in the country will be started with immunisation of grassroot health workers who have worked rigorously in service of COVID-19 patients since last 8-9 months in the district. Around 24,000 health workers will be vaccinated in first phase of the campaign in district. Vaccination will be started from January 16 at 9 am at six centres in Jabalpur,” informed by Collector, Karmveer Sharma while addressing a press conference, on Friday.
 
Collector added that COVID-19 vaccination will be carried out in three phases including first phase for health care workers, second phase for front line workers include police, defence, revenue, municipal and Panchayat workers and people of 50 years and above age will be immunised in third phase of the campaign. Second dose of vaccination will be given after 28 days of the first dose. He proudly stated that the joint efforts of all the COVID-19 warriors from every sectorm the pandemic has been restrained in the district as it registered the best recovery rate upto 95.82 percent and around 420 patients remaining in the district. The district has received first consignment of 28,030 doses of COVID-19 vaccines.
 
Arrangements for vaccination have been made at District Hospital Victoria, Medical College and Hospital, Central Railway Hospital, Primary Health Centre Katangi, Community Health Centre Sihora, Community Health Centre, Panagar and Community Health Centre Shahpura. Vaccination centres have three rooms include waiting hall, vaccination room and observation room while arrangements of drinking water, toilet and other essential resources have been made. Team of six persons includes a security guard, a verifier, two vaccinators, one ANM/Anganwadi worker and a doctor deployed at every centre. Total 100 persons will be vaccinated at every centre in a day.
