In a major breakthrough, the Excise Department teams registered separate five cases and seized 25 litres country-made liquor, 1,200 kg raw material and 880 quarters of English liquor, on Friday.
 
Excise Control Room, In-charge, GL Maravi informed that under the direction of Collector, Karmveer Sharma (IAS) excise team started a special campaign against illegal production and trade of liquor under the supervision of Assistant Excise Commissioner, SN Dubey.
 
During the campaign, Excise Department teams conducted raids at three houses in Kuchbandhiya Mohalla and seized total 25-litres illegal stock of country-made liquor and 1,200-kilograms raw materials and registered case against three women named Triveni Bai, Gangotri Bai and Rangoli Bai under Section 34 (1) of Excise Act.
 
In another case, police team raided the residence of Bobby alias Puppy Chakrawarty, son of Shrikesh Chakrawarty at Sheetalamai Ward, Ghamapur and seized 10-crates carrying 536-quarters of English liquor.In third case, excise team raided the house of Ranjit Chakrawarty situated at Sheetlamai Ward, Ghamapur and seized 344-quarters illegal stock of English liquor from the spot. Excise Department registered separate cases against the accused under Section 34(1)A and 34(2) of Madhya Pradesh Excise Act 1995 (Amended 2000). Raids were conducted by team comprised of Assistant Excise Officer, GD Lahoria, Ramji Pandey, Indrajeet Tiwari, Sub Inspector, Ravishankar Yadav, Shweta Singh, Ravishankar Maravi, Sudhir Mishra and others.
