Car fire in Imambada: Two arrested by Crime Branch

Two persons were arrested by Crime Branch for setting three cars on fire in Imambada area in the wee hours of Sunday. The accused torched the vehicles after smoking Ganja (marijuana), police officials said. The accused are identified as Vishal Raut (19), a resident of Gondia and Shambhu (24), a resident of Chandan Nagar. Vishal works in Swad hotel while Shambhu works in the Ambika Hotel. Both are addicted to marijuana, the official said. On Saturday night, the two smoked marijuana in Chandan Nagar.
 
They came to Imambada area in the wee hours. They torched covers of the cars with a lighter. As a result, the cars caught fire and badly damaged in the fire. The incident let the residents terrified and police were also on toes to nab the anti-socials. Senior police officials including Commissioner of Police Amitesh Kumar, Additional Commissioner of Police for Crime Sunil Fulari, DCP Dr.
 
Akshay Shinde, DCP Detection Gajanan Rajmane visited the spot. The accused were ordered to be arrested immediately. On the basis of CCTV footage, the police identified the accused and arrested them Sunday night. During interrogation, the accused tried to mislead the police. When the police grilled them professionally, the accused confessed for committing the crime. The accused were handed-over to Imambada police. They were produced in the court remanded them to two-days police custody.
