Six kayaking canoeing players from State selected for India camp

As many as six kayaking, canoeing players of Water Sports Academy qualified the selection trial for Olympic Qualify and Asian Championship organised by Indian Kayaking, Canoeing Association at Lower Lake of State capital a few days back. Of the six players, three are boys and three girls.
 
These selected players will take training at Indian camp to be organised for preparations of Olympic Qualify and Asian Championship. Notably, around 83 players from across the country have participated in selection trials. The final qualify round of Olympic Qualify and Asian Championship will be held in Pattaya in Thailand from March 14 to 17. The names of selected players include Balbeer Jatt, C Devratta Singh, Sushma Verma (Kayaking) and Kaveri Dhimar, Namita Chandel and Devendra Sen (Canoeing). These players gave stellar performance during selection trials and thus got qualified for India camp.
 
Academy’s Chief Trainer Captain Pijush Baroi said that academy’s canoeing player Kaveri Dhimar gave spectacular performance during selection trial and left behind all other participants from across the country to clinch first position. Sports Minister Yashodhara Raje Scindia congratulated the selected players and told that state players are bringing laurels by giving impressive performance. Director, Sports and Youth Welfare Pawan Jain praised the selected players for India camp. He specially praised talented player Kaveri Dhimar by saying that Kaveri increased the pride of state and country as well by getting first position. He said it is also matter of pride that maximum players got selected from Madhya Pradesh for India camp.
