NAGPUR’S Iron Man Ravindra Tarare gave himself a perfect new year gift by bagging gold medal in the World Happy New Year-26 Virtual Marathon, Singapore. Participating in the 10k event in the 60-64 year category, Tarare finished first covering the distance in 52 minutes and 54 seconds. He was followed by Singapore’s David Chang who required 54 minutes and 59 seconds and India’s Joseph John at the second and third places respectively in the online tourney. John won the bronze taking 55 minutes and 33 seconds.

 

Tarare was congratulated by noted NIS swimming coach Sanjay Batwe, Atul Tapase, Prasad Deshpande, Dr Rajesh Rewatkar, Arvind Mahakalkar, Bhojraj Meshram, Gugal, Sandeep Vaidya, Shrikant Uke, Vilas Phale, Sanjay Fartode, Prakash Nikam, Tejas Waghmare, Nachiket Batwe, Vibhor Tapase, Sanjay Fadke, Sanjay Dharamthok, Krida Bharati’s Prasanna Hardas, Dr Anil Karvande, Dr Sharad Suryawanshi, Sanjay Lokhande, Shrushendra Dakhne and others for his achievement..
