Local body elections should be taken seriously: Kamal Nath

Madhya Pradesh Congress President and ex Chief Minister Kamal Nath convened the meeting of in charge and co in charge of Municipal Corporations (local body) and told them that upcoming local body elections should not be construed as small, rather they should be taken seriously. “ This election is basis of assembly elections. Through this election, you can strengthen your relations with public,” said Kamal Nath in the meeting held at his residence on Tuesday. He added that eligible candidates of upcoming local body elections should be selected in fair manner and their names should be given to Congress Committee in time bound manner. Coming on politics, he told that present politics and time has changed.
 
“ Anyone who embraced the change is successful. Now the time has gone when one person used to take guarantee of thousands of voters (to vote in favour of one particular side). Now such is the time that one person cannot take guarantee of votes of his house or near by houses,” he quipped. As far as ticket to aspirant women is concerned then he told that only those women will get ticket who are socially and politically active.
 
House wife or wives of leaders who remains away from politics will not be considered for ticket. He told that if ward results will be good then automatically results of Mayors and Chairpersons will be good. A two minute silence was also observed in respect of at least sixty farmers who died during farmer agitation against three new farm laws. The meeting was attended by MLA Ramniwas Rawat, Kantilal Bhuria, ex Minister Sajjan Singh Verma, ex minister Jitu Patwari, Surendra Chaudhary etc.
