NIZEL Xavier slammed the first hat-trick of the tournament as Dream and Dreamers (DND) Football Club started with win on the opening day of the Shivbhola Krida Mandal organised five-aside football tournament which got under way at Shiv Mandir Marartoli Ramnagar football ground. In the opening match, Youth Football Club stunned Big Ben Football Club in a tie-breaker to move ahead in the meet. In another match, Neem Football Club rallied to beat Shakti Club 4-1 after Manish Patil had given the latter a surprising lead in the 4th minute.

However, Tilak Singh scored the leveller in the 7th minute and put Neem ahead in the 9th minute. Giftson Saji then increased the lead a minute later and then took the match away from Shakti scoring another in the 12th minute. In the opener, Youth Football Club stunned Big Ben 3-2 via tiebreaker after both the teams scored two goals apiece. Chirag Naidu scored in the 10th minute to give Big Ben a perfect start but Anand Thakur scored the equaliser for Youth FC in the 15th.
 
Big Ben took the lead again through Chetan Parteki in the 18th minute but Thakur bulged the net in 27th taking the match into tie-breaker. In the sudden death, Thakur, Sachin Maithil and Shanu Dasar scored for Youth FC while for Big Ben, Parteki and Naidu scored while Arjun Rokha failed to find the back of the net. In the last match of the day, DND beat Flame FC 3-1 with Xavier scoring the first hat-trick of the tournament. Mihir Tikale put Flame FC ahead in the 10th minute but that was the only time they celebrated in the 30-minute encounter. Xavier scored the leveller in the 19th and then added another in the 22nd minute. He completed his hat-trick in the 24th minute to take his side ahead in the competition. Earlier, the tournament was inaugurated by Dr Sharad Suryawanshi, Director, Physical Education and Sports Department, Rashtrasant Tukadoji Maharaj Nagpur University.
 
Dr Atmaram Pande, ExDirector, Physical Education and Sports Department of RTMNU, Kamlesh Choudhary, Corporator and Vilasini graced the opening ceremony. Atul Neware, Rahul Neware, Siddharth Kale, Nayeem Ansari, Swapnil Neware, Manish Kshatriya, Anshuman Nagote and were also present. On Wednesday: Hilltop vs AlHam (4 pm), Indian Friends Football Club (IFFC) A vs DCFC, Sadar (4.45 pm), IFFC B vs Amma FC (5.30 pm), IFFC C vs Kanojiya FC (6.15 pm).
