INDIAN Friends Football Club ‘A’ (IFFC), Chankapur shot out Daniel Cataracs Football Club (DCFC) 5-4 in the ongoing five-a-side football tournament organised by Shivbhola Krida Mandal. The meet is under way at Shiv Mandir Marartoli Ramnagar football ground. After both the teams were locked at 1-1 at the end of regulation time, the match was decided via tie-breaker.

 

This was after DCFC took the lead through Sahil Meshram in the 8th min and leveller from IFFC’s Vikas Meshram (21st min) leveller. In the shoot-out, Ankush Bhadange, Roshan Bhadange, Aniket Tandekar and Rolav Gaigole scored for IFFC. For DCFC, Sagar Chintala, Yash Shukla and Shakti Thakur found the net while Sahil Meshram missed the target. In an earlier match, IFFC ‘B’ edged past Hilltop by a solitary goal.

 

The all-important goal was scored by Savayam R in the 8th minute of play. Hilltop tried hard to draw parity but could not find the back of the net. Amma Football Club rode on Emmanuel Francis’ brace as they piped IFFC ‘C’ 2-1. Francis was on target in the fourth minute of play with a powerful right footer. But IFFC managed to equalise within two minutes with Sahil Sohekar bulging the net.

 

Both the teams changed the ends on equal terms. But change of ends changed fortunes for Amma FC as Francis once again showed his class and scored in the first minute of play after resumption. That goal stood out to be the match winner. On Thursday: Gladiators vs Cradle FC 4pm, Hilltop Ambazari vs Friends FC 4.45 pm, Nagpur Gymkhana vs JNFC 5.30 pm, Shakti B vs IFFC D 6.15 pm.
