Mayor Dayashankar Tiwari announces establishment of 75 Vande Mataram Jan Swasthya Clinics through NMC to provide affordable healthcare 
 
Since country would be soon stepping into Diamond Jubilee year of Indian independence, Mayor Dayashankar Tiwari announced establishment of 75 Vande Mataram Jan Swasthya Clinics through Nagpur Municipal Corporation (NMC) to provide affordable healthcare. At the same time another sector that would see launch of slew of projects for education sector, including Super 75 and a permanent armed forces training for students of civic run schools. Finances of civic body are not in good position but Tiwari said public participation in tie-up with NMC are on cards to setup these projects.
 
During maiden media interaction on Thursday after taking over as 54th Mayor of NMC, the veteran corporator said he is hopeful of positive response from administration as the projects are in public interest. To a question, Tiwari said "during the lockdown nearly 7.5 lakh people were fed in city and same was achieved by NMC in co-operation with NGOs", and this provides us the depth of their commitment to public causes. About education, the RBGG civic run school at Bijli Nagar would house permanent training centre where children from nearby Adivasi locality and students of civic schools would be trained by ex-servicemen association. Super 75 module would be set-up and 25 students from Class VIII to XII of civic schools would be shortlisted after entrance exam for training Engineering, Medical and for NDA. Civic body would charge some fees only for NDA course while other two would be free of cost.
 
He also said a proposal to set-up drinking water bottling plant is on cards and if same is marketed through tie-up with railways it can bring Rs. 25 to 30 crores. Also the earlier policy of outdoor advertising to earn revenue from signages would be revamped. Smart hawking zones would be established to enable them to migrate to e-market places. Also, special cells for ex-servicemen, for hawkers interested in availing Central loan scheme, for poor people to provide information about various health schemes of Governments, would also be established in NMC. Deputy Mayor Manisha Dhawde, Sandip Jadhav, Ruling Party Leader, Sunil Agrawal, senior corporator, were also present during the media interaction. Earlier, Mayor and Deputy Mayor formally took over their charge at NMC headquarters. A welcome programme was also held at civic headquarters in presence of host of senior BJP leaders.
