Peter brothers Christopher and Stanley displayed their superb team work and combination as they helped their side Nagpur Gymkhana storm into the quarter-final of the ongoing five-a-side football tournament at Marartoli ground in Ram Nagar.

The tournament is being organised by Shiva Bhola Krida Mandal.

The other teams to make it to the quarter-finals are Neem Football Club and Super 30 who also registered victories over their respective rivals.

Christopher, the elder of the two, had already registered a hat-trick in the tournament. He continued his rich form and slammed two more goals on Friday while Stanley, who is four year younger the Christy, as he is fondly called, scored one as Nagpur Gymkhana blanked Christ Football Club by three goals to nil.

Continuing from where he left in the last game against Jaffar Nagar Football Club whom Nagpur Gymkhana defeated 3-0, Christopher bulged the net in the second minute of play. A qualified AIFF referee, he doubled the lead a minute into the second half to make it 2-0.

Stanley, a BpEd student of Nasikrao Tirpude College final year, scored another in the 17th minute to make it 3-0. Christ FC tried hard to find some solace but were unable to find the back of the net.

In another match, Super 30 got the better of Young Haider 2-0 to move into last eight.

After fighting hard for first 10 minutes, Super 30 surged ahead with a goal from Muzzamil Khan in the 11th minute.
Two minutes later, Shrikant Getme stretched the lead. The scoreline remained unchanged till final whistle.

In the third match of the day, Neem Football Club ousted Youth FC 2-0 to enter quarters. Tilak Singh was on target twice in space of two minutes.

The lanky forward first shook the net with a right footer in the 20th minute after both the teams failed to score in the first 15 minutes of play.

He again managed to breach Youth FC defence and scored his as well as team’s second goal in 21st minute.

In another match, Dream and Dreamers beat Amma FC 2-0 with both the goals coming from Nizel Xavier in 21st and 27th minute.

Swayam Rangari scored in 3rd minute to help Indian Friends Football Club ‘C’ beat H-Ham by a solitary goal.
