Synthetic athletic track to be laid at Ranjhi Sports Complex

There is good news for the athletes in Jabalpur that their long-awaited demand is going to be fulfilled soon with the laying of synthetic athletic track at Ranjhi Sports Complex. The project has been given administrative approval from the Mission Directorate, Sports Development Ministry of Youth Affairs, Government of India.
 
The Central Government has sanctioned the budget of Rs. 6.94 crores for establishment of Synthetic Athletics Track within one of the commencement of project.
 
MLA, Cantt, Ashok Rohani, while talking to ‘The Hitavada’, informed that during the visit of State Sports Minister, Yashodhara Raje Scindia, he raised demand for establishment of Synthetic Athletic Track at vacant land at Ranjhi Sports Complex and also conducted visit at the spot with the Sports Minister. Taking his demand of priority basis, Sports Minister made a strong recommendation for the project. Approval of the project will prove a milestone for facilitating the upcoming players and desired promotion of athletics events in the district. Regional Sports Officer, Santosh Singh Rajput informed that the 400-metres Synthetic Athletic Track will be laid at around 7-acres land of Ranjhi Sports Complex. The project will be completed with the budget of Rs. 6.94 crores. Competent agencies have completed the survey of site and necessary preparations are underway for tendering of the project.
 
Even after being the regional sports centre at divisional headquarters, Jabalpur is yet to have single Synthetic Athletic Track in the district and a large number of athletes are deprived to get advanced training facilities. The synthetic track will fulfil a long awaited demand of players to bring medals in state and national competitions.
