senior Rugby teams of Khandwa and Dewas districts have secured their place in the men’s finals of the Senior and Junior Rugby state Championship, being played at Lakshmi Narain College of Technology (LNCT), Bhopal. In the senior women’s finals, the Dewas and Raisen teams, while in the final Junior boy’s category, Shajapur and Dewas and in the final Junior girl’s category, the teams of Betul and Shajapur have seized their place. In the semi-finals of the 3-day championship, the senior men’s team from Khandwa defeated Raisen by 7-0 to enter the finals. Similarly, in the Senior women’s category, Dewas quashed Betul by 8-1 and Raisen triumphed over Ratlam by 6-3 to pave the way for finals. In the junior boys category, Shajapur thrashed Indore by 3-0, while Dewas beat Mandsaur by 18-8 to make it to the title match. In junior girls category, Betul defeated Dewas by 16-12 and Shajapur beat Raisen by 6-1 to secure a place in the final. LNCT Sports Officer, Pankaj Jain informed that teams from Raisen, Shajapur, Betul, Sehore, Ratlam, Dewas, Indore, Khandwa, Mandsaur and Bhopal are taking part in the championship. Around 250 boy and girl players from the aforementioned districts are participating in the championship. He told that the final matches of the championship will be conducted on Friday, which will be followed by the prize distribution ceremony.
