A man murdered his neighbour with an axe at New Nehru Nagar in Hudkeshwar police station area on late Saturday night. The deceased was identified as Devdarshan alias Balu Meshram (45), a resident of Plot No. 117, New Nehru Nagar, Pipala turning, Nagpur. The police have arrested Suraj Vilas Bagde (25), a resident of Plot No. 64, New Nehru Nagar, Pipala turning, on murder charges. According to police, Balu Meshram owns a poultry farm on Umred Road and used to stay out of home. He lives with wife Sulochana (30) and children in New Nehru Nagar area and accused Suraj Bagde is their neighbour. Bagde was addicted to Ganja (Marijuana). Due to Bagde’s violent behavior, his mother and sister are living separately.
 
A non-cognizable offence was registered against Bagde in 2013 on the complaint of Bagde. Later, the two became friends and used to consume liquor together. The two were in the house of Bagde on Saturday night. A quarrel broke out between them over some issue and Bagde hit an axe on the head of Meshram. Sustaining grievous injuries, he collapsed on the ground. Neighbours rushed to the spot and admitted profusely bleeding Meshram to hospital. He breathed his last on Sunday at 5 am. Bagde went absconding after the murder. An offence under Section 302 of Indian Penal Code was registered by Hudkeshwar police.
