7 killed in bus-container collision in MP’s Bhind

As many as seven people, including six men and one woman, were killed and fifteen others were injured in a road mishap happened on Bhind-Gwalior highway in Bhind district in Madhya Pradesh on Friday morning. MP Government has announced financial assistance of Rs 4 lakh to next kin of every deceased and Rs 50,000 to every injured. Probe has been ordered in the incident.
MP Transport Minister Govind Singh Rajput said that bus (MP-07 1168) collided with a container at 7 am near Dang village situated on Bhind-Gwalior highway. Deceased included six men and one women and fifteen people have been injured. According to the directives of Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan, financial relief has been provided to victims and order to investigate the entire incident has been issued.
Expressing grief over the incident, he added that Transport Department always try to prevent such kind of mishaps but owing to vehicle driver’s negligence, such painful incident takes place. Government is with the victim’s family.
He was on tour of Dhar-Alirajpur and after getting information about the mishap, he directed Additional Transport Commissioner Arvind Saxena and District Transport Officer, Bhind, Anurag Shukla to reach on the spot. He also spoke to doctors regarding treatment of victims at district hospital.
Arvind Saxena said that prima facie, fault of container driver is supposed to be main reason behind the incident. He has been arrested. In the probe, fitness certificate and permit of bus were found to be correct. Five victims of incident have been referred to Gwalior and two were discharged from the hospital. Rest injured are being treated at Gohad’s hospital.
Deceased included Rajat Rathod (22), Gani Adivasi (20), Harendra and Hariom Adivasi. Three deceased are yet to be identified. Bodies have been sent to Gohad for autopsy.
