Four persons booked for duping Pune-based doc of Rs 41 lakh

AJNI Police, on Thursday, booked four persons for allegedly defrauding a Pune-based doctor to the tune of Rs 41 lakh by promising admission to her son for MBBS course in Government Medical College, Nagpur.
A resident of Plot No 2, Gulvihar Colony, Nashik Road, Pune, Dr Shilpa Suresh Dhekale (44) lodged a complaint that Sachin Kashyap, Chandrashekhar Atram, Shrikant and one Sakhare had promised to ensure a MBBS seat in Government Medical College, Nagpur. Between September 7, 2019 and December 2020, they took Rs 41 lakh from her. However, her son could not get admission for the course. Later, she realised that she was duped by them. On the basis of Dr Dhekale’s complaint, police registered an offence under Sections 420, 406, 34 of the Indian Penal Code against Sachin Kashyap, Shrikant, Chandrashekhar Atram and Sakhare. Further investigations are underway.
