Indolence on the part of the Jabalpur Municipal Corporation in dealing strictly with those who release their cattle on roads is providing dear to citizens. The stray cattle are disturbing traffic arrangements and resulting in accidents within municipal limits. Likewise, the cattle are also adding to uncleanliness on the streets. The stray cattle like cows, calves and ox have made squares and busy roads their home.

 

They sit in herds at the public places and create inconvenience to denizens. The Jabalpur Municipal Corporation has a special squad called Haka gang, which is formed to catch stray cattle from city streets. But, to the lethargy of this squad, it executes the work occasionally. A few months back the Haka gang conducted drive and caught some stray cattle from city roads. But after such attentiveness for few days now the members of the squad are taking no pains to catch stray cattle and take them to concerned place. The lethargy of Haka gang is proving dear to Jabalpurians as herds of stray cattle once again started gathering at squares, roads and creating hurdle in traffic movement.

 

The encroachment on busy roads by stray cattle is also leading to accidents. Despite, the civic body is taking no interest to end stray cattle menace. Representatives of various social and voluntary organisations have often urge concerned senior officials to activate Haka gang and conduct drive regularly to catch stray cattle from busy streets. But concerned officials are not paying any heed to people’s woes and forcing citizens to face stray cattle menace.
