Economic Offence Wing (EOW), Jabalpur team trapped a Patwari while taking bribe of Rs 25,000 from complainant for completing the house construction under Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana in Mandla district, on Friday. The accused has been identified as Amit Panna, posted as Patwari in Mandla district. EOW, Jabalpur Inspector, Manjeet Singh informed that on October 25, a man named Ravindra Kumar, a resident of Ghughri in Mandla lodged a complaint that Patwari named Amit Panna had stopped the construction of his house which was being carried out under Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana.

 

He contacted the Patwari Amit Panna for restarting the construction of his house when he demanded bribe of Rs. 25,000 for the same. Taking a serious note on the complaint, EOW team started investigation and learnt that the home loan of complainant was sanctioned under PM Awas Yojana and his house was being constructed on Government land. Patwari had stopped the construction work on the basis of a complaint of construction on Government land.
