NAGPUR footballers representing Maharashtra clinched the all India 7-a-side Football Tournament held at DSA ground in Nainital. The tournament was organised by Chasers Foundation. In the competition Maharashtra won three matches to clinch the coveted crown.

In their opening encounter, Maharashtra pipped West Bengal to set the ball rolling. Harsh Choubey bulged the net from a close range for a 1-0 win. Maharashtra then got the better of title favourites Jharkhand 3-0 with Dhruv Pandey, Harsh Choubey and Vedant Rana finding the back of the net.

In the final, they defeated Telangana 2-0 in penalty shoot out. Gaurav Sarpe and Harsh Choubey were the scorers for Maharashtra.

Goalkeeper Ankit Yadav made two brilliant saves in the

shoot-out.
