Dindori,

Agitated on being questioned for his illegal activities, a trader tried to run over a lady Range Officer and her team of forest employees with his pick-up vehicle in forest village Chauradadar. The lady officer and her team were carrying out inquiry into a complain of sale-purchase of forest produce. A complain at Karanjia police station was registered by the Forest Department on charges of disrupting officers and employees from performing duty. Surprisingly, SHO, Karanjia, did not lodge an FIR immediately.

According to the details in the case, Deputy Range Officer Sewa Ram Uikey, forest guard Ishwar Singh Paraste, Dhruv Singh Dhurvey, deployed at Chauradadar informed Range Officer about sale-purchase of forest produce in Chauradadar village without registration. Forest employees informed that a trader named Dharmendra alias Sonu Sariwaan hurled abuses at them and thrashed them when they tried to stop him. Then Lady Range Officer demanded SHO, Karanjia, to provide police force. But SHO allegedly did not pay heed hence she along with her team arrived at Chauaradadar. She arrived and found that Dharmendra Sariwaan in his new pick up vehicle was lifting forest produce Harra, Kacharia purchased by him from villagers. She stopped him and started doing formalities of seizure as this trader did not had registration. Dharmendra got agitated and started assaulting the forest team.

He hurled abuses at the lady Range Officer. He then tried to run but he sat in his vehicle and tried to crush the officer with his pick-up vehicle. He abandoned the vehicle and fled. Then forest team reached Karanjia police station and submitted a written complain but SHO did not take any immediate action which irked the forest employees. Locals informed that Dharmendra is a history-sheeter and is absconding in various cases lodged in Karanjia police station. SP Sanjay Singh said that he has received information about the incident and strict action will be taken on the complain of the forest team.
