The 64th National 50-meter Rifle Shooting Championship is slated to begin at the Bisankhedi-situated Gora Gaon shooting range from November 25. In view of the same, the shooters started preparing for the championship and practiced range testing on Thursday. Sports and Youth Welare Minister Yashodhara Raje Scindia and other sports officials were also present during the same. Notably, the championship is being organised under the joint aegis of Department of Sports and Youth Welfare and National Rifle Association of India (NRAI). The sports department has made all the necessary arrangements for organizing the championship. More than 4000 shooters from across the country will be participating in this championship. The shooters slated to perform in the event also practiced for the event by means of range testing on Wednesday.

 

The other shooters participating in the event will be arriving soon. Sports Minister Yashodhara Raje Scindia is continuously reviewing the preparations being ensured for the event. She has instructed the officials not to leave any stone unturned in making the event successful. She informed that the players are being provided world-class facilities at the Academy. She added that it is a proud moment for MP Shooting Academy to host the National Shooting Championship. She assured that no player will be deprived of any facility. The Madhya Pradesh Shooting Academy is completely air-conditioned and certain other rooms such as dope test room, medical room, players lobby, conference room, gym hall, dining hall and kitchen have also been constructed keeping in mind the National-level event. The new building has been constructed on the concept of Green building, which is equipped with Water recharge, landscaping and plantation programmes. The decision to expand the shooting range was taken in 2015. The MP Shooting Academy sprawls across 37.16 acres and possesses 50 meter shooting range and three ranges of trap and skeet. It is a world-class shooting range which has been evolved as High performance center.
