ADVOCATE Adwait Manohar, son of former BCCI and ICC Chairman Adv Shashank Manohar, is all set to head Vidarbha Cricket Association (VCA) for the next three years. The term of incumbent president Adv Anand Jaiswal will end in December. Junior Manohar filed his nomination for President’s post on Monday. Since there is no opposition to the members who have filed nominations for their respective posts, the elections scheduled on Dec 5 will be rendered redundant. Avinash Deshmukh filed his nomination for vice-president’s post while Hemant Gandhi, who was joint secretary in Adv Jaiswal’s team, filed for the secretary’s post. Sharad Padhye, former BCCI and VCA media committee member, has filed his nomination for joint secretary’s post.

This will be for second time that Padhye will be the joint secretary of the association. Arjun Pathak filed his nomination for treasurer’s post while Anand Deshpande filed for the executive committee member’s post. Similarly, the senior selection committee will have Suhas Phadkar, Chandrashekhar Atram and Naim Razzaque while Manoj Gogte, P Vivek and Ruchit Bhalla will be junior selectors. Nilima Sonkamble, Aparna Saha and Seema Katakwar are the new women selectors. The scrutiny of forms was done by election officer JS Saharia.
